This policy covers the Trimmed app and support correspondence.

Information on your device
Trimmed stores app preferences, reading status, notification history, and cached news content on your device. Searches within the news feed run locally. The app does not upload your saved reading status or feed search queries to our server.
You can remove the app’s local data by deleting the app from your device. Device backups are managed separately through your device and backup settings.
Trimmed does not require a Trimmed account and does not include advertising or third-party usage-analytics tools.
Connections to other services
Trimmed uses Apple’s CloudKit and push-notification services to deliver news and background updates. You can turn notification alerts off in iOS Settings.
Images load directly from external image providers, sometimes in advance to improve loading speed. These requests expose your IP address and the requested image address to those providers.
When you open a Wikipedia explanation, the app sends the selected topic to Wikipedia. Opening an external article or website connects you to that website. These services receive your IP address and request information and handle information under their own privacy policies.

Contacting us
If you email us, we receive your email address and any information you include. We use that information to handle your request. Providing it is voluntary, although we need a reply address to respond.
Our support mailbox uses Gmail, so Google processes these messages. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
We use your email address and the information you provide to respond to your enquiries, based on our legitimate interest in providing user support.
We retain support correspondence for as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up, up to 12 months after the request is resolved, unless a longer period is required
